After the unmitigated disaster that was X men 3, Fox took the bold move to go for a radical reboot for one of its most popular franchise, and shifted the action back to its origins in the 60's. While hiring a bunch of youngsters to play parts that have been immortalised by the likes of Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry would have turned this into a teen friendly Marvel 90210 if Brett Ratner was still at the helm, the fact that they hired everyone's favourite cinematic writing/directing twosome: Matthew Vaughan/Jane Goldman (Stardust, Kick-Ass) is making me wet with nerdxcitement.
Now the first trailer has finally arrived, and it's looking pretty impressive. While not showing too much quite yet, it does look promising. I'm loving the retro 60's vibe, the great cast (Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne...). It's getting me nearly as excited as the first time I saw the trailer for Kick-ass...
